Blackberry Brownies

Tools + Supplies
9x13 pan
sauce pan
stand mixer with paddle attachment and metal bowl
rubber spatula
parchment paper or cooking spray
Ingredients
6oz blackberries
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 eggs, room temperature
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350.
Muddle blackberries. I used a mortar and pestle, but you could use a fork or spoon and a bowl.
Using sauce pan and metal bowl from stand mixer, create a double boiler on the stove top. Melt the butter and chocolate chips together. Once you have an even consistency, incorporate the muddled blackberries.
Attach metal bowl to stand mixer. Using the paddle attachment, mix sugar and vanilla extract into chocolate mixture on low speed.
Alternate adding flour and eggs, one at a time, fully incorporating on each step.
Fold chocolate chips into batter (optional).
Pour batter into 9x13 pan (greased or lined with -parchment paper) and bake for 25-30 minutes.
