Caramel Sauce

Tools + Supplies

  • saucepan

  • whisk


  • 1 cup sugar

  • .25 cup water

  • .25 cup heavy cream

  • 4 tsp butter

  • pinch of salt


  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, salt, and water, stirring until sugar dissolves.

  • Increase heat to medium high. Cook for 4-5 more minutes, without stirring, until color is a deep gold.

  • Turn off heat, add cream and butter, and stir until you reach caramel consistency.

  • Caramel sauce will be very hot. Let cool before using.
