1 cup sugar
.25 cup water
.25 cup heavy cream
4 tsp butter
pinch of salt
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, salt, and water, stirring until sugar dissolves.
Increase heat to medium high. Cook for 4-5 more minutes, without stirring, until color is a deep gold.
Turn off heat, add cream and butter, and stir until you reach caramel consistency.
Caramel sauce will be very hot. Let cool before using.
