Oatmeal Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

Tools + Supplies

  • stand mixer with whisk or paddle attachment

  • cookie sheet

  • parchment paper

  • tablespoon or cookie dough scoop

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1.5 cups brown sugar, packed

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 cups quick-cook oats

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • .25 tsp salt

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350.

  • In mixing bowl, combine butter and brown sugar. Once blended, stir in vanilla, egg, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Mix until light and fluffy.

  • Stir in oats, flour, baking soda and salt. Once combined, add chocolate chips. Be careful not to over mix.

  • Drop small scoops on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, about 2 inches apart.

  • Bake 10-12 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on wire rack.
